276 to Blue Ridge Parkway

276/215 Parkway Loop (Metric Century)
epic61.7 miles. One of the best metric centuries in the US. 276 up, BRP connector, 215 descent. All-day epic with Parkway views.

Headwaters Loop
moderate20.4 miles, 1,815 feet of climbing. A rolling road loop out of Rosman that passes the headwaters of the French Broad and the PARI observatory. Quiet roads, steady scenery, more climbing than the mileage suggests.

Caesar's Head
epicHead south on US 276 through Cedar Mountain and cross into South Carolina. The climb back up from the SC side runs about 7 miles at a 5.9% average with roughly 2,150 feet of gain. Narrow road, no shoulder, and one of the best overlooks in the Southeast at the top.

BRP Tips
- The Parkway is open to cyclists — no bike lanes, share the road
- Bring front and rear lights for tunnels (required by law)
- Weather can change rapidly at 5,000+ feet — bring layers
- Check road closures before riding — sections close for weather and construction
- Start early to avoid afternoon traffic and thunderstorms
