Foothills Watershed Bike Park

Foothills Watershed Bike Park is a 117-acre family riverside hangout and bike park on the headwaters of the Catawba River, just downstream from Catawba Falls and minutes from downtown Old Fort. Opened summer 2025 by the family behind Foothills Butcher Shop and Foothills Grange.

Features a progressive network of feature-rich bike trails, an all-ages pump track, intermediate and expert dirt jump lines, a skills trail, plus a swim pond, river wading sections, and a large lawn for picnics. **E-bikes are welcome here**, unlike on USFS singletrack. Bike rentals available (dirt jump bikes, E-MTBs, helmets, hammocks). On-site brewery (opened October 2025) and a new BBQ menu (brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese).

All Access Day Pass is $15 for the season for unlimited bike trail use plus park amenities. Kitsuma Shuttle combo is $50. Phase 2 expansion (80+ acres of steep back bowl) under construction.

Comes recommended by locals as the gateway facility for new mountain bikers — build skills on the pump track and intro trails before tackling Kitsuma. Combine your All Access pass with a Kitsuma shuttle for a full mountain bike day: shuttle to the top, bomb Kitsuma, ride back to Watershed for swim, beer, and BBQ.
